Amplify Book Coaching

Amplifying your writing journey every step of the way
with Alyssa M. Pfingst, Book Coach

Welcome to Amplify! I'm so excited to help you finish writing the novel of your dreams and get it out into the world where it belongs!

Writers who want to see themselves represented in adult fiction should have a supportive, open space to create their worlds with a book coach who intimately understands that space and can support that journey. If you feel the same, I’m the book coach for you!

Are you frustrated with:

An Unclear Path?

I.E.

Confusion about what to do next, at whatever writing stage you’re at?

Not knowing how to work on a deadline, or letting life “get in the way” of your writing journey so often that you never feel like you’re making decent progress?

Character, plot, or inconsistency issues that derail your novel, but you have no idea how to fix them?

Unclear help?

I.E.

A writing group that spends more time asking you about your LGBTQ+ status rather than focusing on your writing?

Friends who are in queer spaces but who have no idea how to comment on your writing in a constructive way?

Peers who are supportive, but you wouldn’t trust to put in the effort to read your work?

Unclear Feedback?

I.E.

vague feedback: “It’s good” or “I don’t like this part” or “this character is nice”

Feedback Centered around someone else’s ideas: “Would you consider changing this person’s orientation to make it easier for me to understand? “

Wandering Feedback (that has nothing to do with the plot): “Would you be open to changing this character’s shoe color?” or “Why are they eating pizza instead of toast?”

I'm here to help!
When you work with me, I offer:

A clear Path

Guided steps on how to move forward with your project in a real, concrete way

A Set up for intentional deadlines that blend with your lifestyle and goal set for your project

Wholistic, loving guidance on where your story needs strengthening and where it shines

Intense Support

Expert knowledge from an LGBTQ+ Book Coach who knows how to critique writing projects

Relief that constructive assessments will surround important story elements such as plot and character choices instead of sexual or gender orientation

A high Time and Energy investment in the outcome of your story and characters

Detailed Feedback

Clear Feedback: “If you adapt your character’s tone in this section, the scene will be more complete because we’ll understand why they’re doing this”

Focus on your desired outcome: “This character choice doesn’t seem consistent with what they’ve done in the past. Is this what you’re intending?”

Focus on the whole rather than the parts: “Does this scene fit in with the whole story?” or “Would this character be better served by bringing this secret to light sooner?”

My goal as a Book Coach is to offer authors of Novels and Graphic Novels clarity, guidance, and an expert, highly detailed eye assessing the development of their work every step of the way on the path to publishing. I want your project to feel nourished, complete, and grown into something you feel ready to take on the world with. I specialize in LGBTQ+ Work but have a wide variety of skills in multiple genres.
